PETRA BOND- Chin Yew (Coming Soon to Maskara Shorties 7 Aug)

SYNOPSIS
Petra Bond is one of the short-films Chin Yew was paid to do for an oil and gas company, as an opening video for their James Bond themed annual dinner. By studying the building and the staffs of the company, Chin Yew had specially wrote and crafted this video for them.

DIRECTOR
Famously known as the boy who quit his mundane job and locked himself in a room to paint 40 canvases while posting the progress daily via in a blog he co-created; 30dayartist.com. Trained as a production assistant from commercial production when he was 25, he climbed the ladder easily when he switched to the local television production, and became a director at the age of 27. He has directed various episodes of the popular children series Geng Bas Sekolah and was the CG director for the superhero series Kapten Boleh. Animation graduated from Lim Kok Wing, he is also an artist who paints for exhibition, published and illustrated a picture book ‘The Boy Who Loved Clouds’ and a graphic novel ‘I See So Many Butterflies’. He is currently working on his first telemovie about a boy who tries to make Kuala Lumpur snow. Holds a diploma in (Digital Media (Video and film studies), She started to write a script and make her own shorts film in 19 years old. Currently working as a Junior Editor in a small Post-production company in Kuala Lumpur.

KIAMU!!! - Anwari Ashraf

SYNOPSIS
'Kiamu!!!' is actually part of a much more elaborate idea that Anwari has been keeping close to his heart. But when the opportunity came, he had to make do with what's provided and make it into a short film.

Among many of his influences on writing 'Kiamu!!!' is German writer Frank Wedekind's original 1891 play Frühlings Erwachen, a text in which Anwari exemplifies the inner-rebellious tone in it's writing style and dialogue. As a self-acclaimed port-modernist filmmaker, he references Quentin Tarantino's wit and Shane Black's "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"

THE DIRECTOR
Anwari's first attempt on film directing was at the age of 14. His debut short film; 'Humpty Dumty's Scientific Escape' (2003) brought him to Hong Kong for the 2004 APICTA awards. " It was the days where video editing softwares were being introduced to home computers, and I was just another kid who found it to be a lot of fun!”

He was a pure-science stream student and was aiming to further his tertiary education in Medical Science with a government scholarship. Getting a 'B' for Bahasa Melayu in SPM marks the end of his MD dreams. Ask him today and he’ll refers it as "the best thing that ever happened" to him. He just completed his BA in Film Video; Interactive Arts at Middlesex University, London under the sponsorship of Malaysian broadcasting giant; Astro.

Sinopsis Nasi Lemak RM1.20 yang Marvellous:
Berlatar belakang cinta Masdo terhadap Siti penjual nasi lemak.

Sinopsis Fringetown:
3 pencegah jenayah yang dikehendaki tiba di Fringtown dan perlu memutuskan siapa yang akan pulang dengan wang ganjaran.

PENGARAH
Rozinor adalah seorang pembikin filem bebas yang suka bikin filem tidak kira apa medium yang digunakan dan bagaimana penceritaan visual diceritakan. Seorang pensyarah penyiaran & filem di sebuah IPTS dan sedang merangka pembinaan sebuah webTV bikin filem dalam bahasa melayu.

SEBALIK TABIR KARIPAP-KARIPAP CINTA - Othman Hafsham (Coming soon to Maskara Shorties Aug 7)

Pengarah terkenal, Othman Hafsham, menyumbangkan tayangan di sebalik tabir pembikinan filem Karipap-Karipap Cinta yang diadaptasi dari novel dengan tajuk yang sama hasil nukilan Nazri M. Annuar (Anggota Sindiket Sol-jah).

SINOPSIS
Filem Karipap-Karipap Cinta merupakan kisah cinta Ali kepada Sarah. Kisahnya bukanlah cinta luar biasa tetapi kisah hidup mencari cinta yang membawa peristiwa lucu, sedih dan tidak masuk akal dalam usaha Ali menawan hati Sarah.

PENGARAH
Tuan Othman Hafsham, pengarah yang dikenali ramai ini pernah mencapai anugerah Pengarah Filem Terbaik pada Festival Filem Malaysia kali ke-4, 1983 dan kali ke-7, 1987. Selain itu, beliau juga pernah mencapai anugerah penulis Skrip Terbaik pada Festival Filem Malaysia Pertama, 1980.
Antara filem arahan beliau ialah Adik Manja (1979), Mekanik (1983), Rahsia (1987), Ujang (1989), Driving School (1990), Soal Hati (2000) dan Soalnya Siapa? (2002)
